Five-Game Battle Against World No. 6 Fayrouz Aboelkheir

In the second round, Anahat came up against Egypt’s Fayrouz Aboelkheir, ranked world No. 6. The Indian put up a fight in a five-game contest but ultimately lost, bringing her campaign at the tournament to an end.

Facing a player of Aboelkheir’s calibre provided Anahat with valuable experience against elite-level opposition. Egypt has established itself as a powerhouse in international squash, making tournaments on home soil particularly demanding for visiting players.

Anahat Singh’s Progress and the Road Ahead

At 18, Anahat Singh continues to gain experience on the international circuit. Her victory in the opening round and the competitive five-game battle against a top-six opponent offer encouraging signs, even though she could not progress further.

The next step will be to build greater consistency against higher-ranked players and turn competitive performances into victories. Continued development, exposure to elite competition and experience in high-pressure matches will be important as she looks to close the gap on the world’s best.

Anahat has the potential to become a stronger contender at the highest level, but sustained progress will take time. The CIB Egyptian Open campaign offers another learning opportunity as the young Indian continues her journey in international squash.

For Indian squash, the focus will be on helping emerging players like Anahat translate their potential into consistent results against the sport’s established elite.
