She secured her place in the finals by defeating USA’s Piper Flower 6-0 and Ukrainian competitor Khrystyna Demchuk by technical superiority (12-2). Tomorrow, Mansi will be facing Russia’s Hanna Pirskaya in the quest for the gold medal.
In Greco Roman wrestling, the Indian athletes wrapped up their campaign with 2 bronze medals. On Tuesday, Ronak Dahiya claimed victory over Turkish wrestler Emrullah Capcan (6-1) in the bronze medal match. On Wednesday, Sainath Pardhi secured a bronze in the 51kg category. He defeated USA’s Domenic Munaretto (7-1) in the repechage and then outmaneuvered Kazakhstani competitor Yerassyl Mussan (3-1) to capture the bronze medal.
