WTT China Smash 2026: Indian Pairs Exit in Semifinals

India’s campaign at the WTT China Smash 2026 came to an end in the semifinals, with both Indian pairs suffering defeats in the men’s doubles and mixed doubles events.

In the men’s doubles semifinals, Manav Thakkar and Manush Shah went down in straight games to South Korea’s Lim Jonghoon and Oh Junsung. The Indian duo lost 8-11, 6-11, 3-11, as their opponents secured a place in the final.

In the mixed doubles event, Manush Shah and Diya Chitale put up a fight against Taiwan’s Cheng I-Ching and Lin Yun-Ju but eventually suffered a 1-3 defeat. The Indian pair lost 7-11, 11-9, 10-12, 4-11, with the Taiwanese combination winning three of the four games to advance to the final.

Cheng I-Ching and Lin Yun-Ju, who are accomplished international paddlers, proved too strong for the Indian duo despite their efforts to stay in contention.

With both pairs falling short in the last four, India’s challenge at the WTT China Smash 2026 concluded at the semifinal stage.
