The Indian Athletics Final Series wrapped up at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on 10th September, with 30 finals across men’s and women’s track and field. Tamil Nadu topped the medal table, narrowly ahead of Uttar Pradesh and Haryana, while Odisha’s Animesh Kujur was the standout individual performer of the meet, sweeping the men’s 100m and 200m sprint double.
Men’s Track
Animesh Kujur was the story of the sprints, taking gold in the 100m (10.21) ahead of Punjab’s Gurindervir Singh (10.32) and Maharashtra’s Rushiprasad Desai (10.33), before backing it up in the 200m with a winning time of 20.59, with Kerala’s Jishnu Prasad P K (20.63) and Madhya Pradesh’s Abhay Singh (21.04) completing the podium.
Tamil Nadu’s Vishal T K took the 400m in 45.36, with Uttar Pradesh’s Jay Kumar (45.50) and Kerala’s Manu T S (45.68) close behind. Kerala’s Mohammed Afsal P won the 800m in 1:46.40 from Maharashtra’s Prakash Gadade (1:46.56) and Haryana’s Krishan Kumar (1:46.73). Rajasthan’s Rahul Baloda claimed the 1500m in 3:39.89 ahead of Uttar Pradesh’s Yoonus Shah (3:40.37) and Madhya Pradesh’s Sunil Dawar (3:43.68).
Maharashtra’s Avinash Sable dominated the 3000m Steeplechase, winning in 8:32.39 with state-mate Shubham Bhandare (8:50.31) taking silver and Haryana’s Vikash Dalal (8:50.43) the bronze.
In the hurdles, Karnataka’s Krishik Manjunath won the 110m Hurdles in 13.65 from Kerala’s Muhammed Lazan VK (13.84) and Tamil Nadu’s Manav Rajanarayana (13.85), while Tamil Nadu’s Santhosh Kumar T took the 400m Hurdles gold in 50.08, with Gujarat’s Ruchit Mori (50.61) and West Bengal’s Subhas Das (50.73) rounding out the podium.
Men’s Field
Haryana’s Mohd Atta Sazid won the Long Jump with 8.01m, edging out Karnataka’s Arya S (7.90m) and Odisha’s Sarun Payasingh (7.61m). Kerala’s Karthik Unnikrishnan took the Triple Jump gold with 16.43m ahead of Tamil Nadu’s Gailey Venister (16.04m) and Jharkhand’s Vishal Bahadur (15.85m).
Tamil Nadu’s Aadarsh Ram cleared 2.18m to win the High Jump, with Madhya Pradesh’s Aaditya Raghuvanshi and Rajasthan’s Basant sharing silver and bronze on identical 2.15m clearances. Madhya Pradesh’s Dev Kumar Meena won the Pole Vault at 5.40m, with Tamil Nadu’s Reegan G (5.30m) and Rajasthan’s Ramratan (5.10m) taking the minor medals.
In the throws, Punjab’s Tajinderpal Singh Toor won the Shot Put with 20.64m ahead of Madhya Pradesh’s Samardeep Singh Gill (19.59m) and Punjab’s own Karanveer Singh (19.51m). Delhi’s Nirbhay Choudhary took the Hammer Throw with 71.02m from Punjab’s Damneet Singh (68.12m) and Haryana’s Ashish Jakhar (67.51m). Uttar Pradesh’s Rohit Yadav won the Javelin Throw with 81.10m, with Tamil Nadu’s Manoj Kumar J (80.73m) and Rajasthan’s Yashvir Singh (80.40m) completing the podium.
Women’s Track
Maharashtra’s Harita Bhadra won the 100m in 11.22 ahead of Tamil Nadu’s Abinaya Rajarajan (11.31) and Giridharani Ravikumar (11.35). Maharashtra’s Aishwarya Mishra took the 400m in 52.51, with Uttar Pradesh’s Prachi (52.75) and Karnataka’s Poovamma Raju (52.76) close behind. Uttarakhand’s Lili Das won the 800m in 2:03.41 from Haryana’s Pooja (2:04.02) and Tamil Nadu’s Gowthami Jayaraman (2:05.63), while Chhattisgarh’s Thota Sankeertana claimed the 1500m in 4:37.95 ahead of Himachal Pradesh’s Nikita Sharma (4:38.62) and Haryana’s Pragati (4:39.88).
Uttar Pradesh’s Parul Chaudhary won the 3000m Steeplechase in 9:22.49, with Maharashtra’s Prachi Devkar (10:28.35) and Odisha’s Susmita Tigga (10:33.94) taking silver and bronze.
In the hurdles, Tamil Nadu’s Nandhini Kongan won the 100m Hurdles in 13.30 ahead of Kerala’s Anjali C (13.33) and Odisha’s Pragyan Prasanti Sahu (13.37). Kerala’s Anu Raghavan took the 400m Hurdles gold in 57.23, with Karnataka’s Sinchal Kaveramma (59.91) and Uttar Pradesh’s Tanu Chaudhary (1:01.47) completing the podium.
Women’s Field
Kerala’s Ancy Sojan E won the Long Jump with 6.76m ahead of Uttar Pradesh’s Shaili Singh (6.65m) and Andhra Pradesh’s Bhavani Yadav Bhagavath (6.42m). Tamil Nadu’s I. Asha Ilango took the Triple Jump with 13.76m, with Punjab’s Niharika Vashisht (13.24m) and West Bengal’s Bhairabi Roy (13.06m) taking the minor medals.
Haryana’s Pooja Singh won the High Jump on countback at 1.81m, matched by Uttar Pradesh’s Reet Rathor for silver, with Karnataka’s Supriya S B (1.78m) taking bronze. In the Pole Vault, Madhya Pradesh’s Nitika Anup Akare, Tamil Nadu’s Baranica Elangovan and Tamil Nadu’s Karthika V all cleared 4.10m, with Nitika Anup Akare awarded gold on countback.
Haryana’s Manpreet Kaur won the Shot Put with 17.19m ahead of Tamil Nadu’s Krishna Jayasankar (16.61m) and Delhi’s Srishti Vig (15.99m). Haryana swept the Discus Throw podium, with Seema Kaliramana (56.52m) winning gold ahead of Priya (54.82m) and Nidhi Rani (54.16m). Uttar Pradesh’s Tanya Chaudhary won the Hammer Throw with 68.35m, with state-mate Anushka Yadav (66.34m) taking silver and Rajasthan’s Kulvinder Kaur (59.13m) the bronze. Uttar Pradesh’s Annu Rani closed out the meet with Javelin Throw gold at 57.50m, ahead of Andhra Pradesh’s Rashmi K (57.22m) and Rajasthan’s Uma Choudhary (52.89m).

Asha Ilango (Triple Jump), Nandhini Kongan (100m Hurdles) and Vishal T K (400m). Uttar Pradesh and Haryana tied on 11 medals apiece, with Kerala (8) and Maharashtra (7) completing the top five.
